2-DAY ROTORUA JOURNEY INTO MĀORI HISTORY, ARTS, CULTURE & ECOLOGY
Price: $700 USD
Includes: single room accommodation on January 20, breakfasts and lunches on both days, dinner on January 20, admission to all events/venues, and transportation to all sites
DAY 1 (January 20, 2018)
Travel to Rotorua and enjoy lunch, followed by a guided visit to Te Puia’s geothermal valley. Exploding out of the ground up to 30 metres high is the famous Pohutu Geyser. Visit the New Zealand Māori Arts & Crafts Institute at Te Puia which was established to preserve the heritage of Māori culture and the skills of Māori arts and crafts.
Then visit New Zealand’s best-loved visitor attraction for over 40 years, the Agrodome and participate in a Sheep Show – 19 breeds of sheep, each represented by a champion ram.
End your day in Mitai Village where you will enjoy a traditional Māori hangi (dinner), followed by a cultural performance and guided evening walk.
DAY 2 (January 21, 2018)
In the morning, we depart for the Skyline Gondola on the side of Mount Ngongotaha. The gondola will carry you 487 metres above sea level for a panoramic view of Rotorua City, Lake Rotorua and the surrounding area. You have the option of taking a Luge Ride! A buffet lunch will be provided at the Skyline Gondola Restaurant.
Depart Rotorua and travel to Hobbiton to experience where the journey in Middle Earth began before returning to Auckland.
